Academic Affiliates

June 1, 2021 | Kate McLeod

The High would like to thank its incredible Academic Affiliate school partners for another year of creativity, ingenuity, and collaboration. The partnership program was established in 2009 with the goal of creating deep connections between schools and the Museum’s collection, special exhibitions, and staff. During a year of constant change, the steadfast bonds between the schools and the Museum provided rich online student exhibitions and unique programming for all partner students and teachers. The Academic Affiliate partnership consists of the Atlanta International School, the Galloway School, Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School, the Howard School, the Lovett School, and the Westminster Schools—each with their own distinct mission and creative drive. For more information on the program, please contact Kate McLeod, Head of School and Teacher Services, at 404-733-5339 or kate.mcleod@high.org.

On view at high.org/students, the virtual student exhibition showcases the exemplary work of our students, guided by their fantastic art teachers!

“It feels really nice to know that my artwork will be able to reach other people amidst all of the craziness of this world right now so that they can hopefully enjoy something beautiful for a moment.”
—Katie Maier, junior, Lovett School

“I feel so accomplished and happy. There are so many shapes I used and made up my own giant shape and used different color paints. Mostly, I really like the red background of the painting. I feel very, very happy to have it at the High Museum.”
—Leyton Meier, age 7, first grader, Galloway School
