At the risk of sounding sentimental, I hope you’re as happy as I am about the return of many things we’ve missed over the past year and a half—quality time with friends and family, school back in session, and the chance to explore our city again being paramount among them.
We have so much on the horizon to welcome you to the Museum, from amazing exhibitions to holiday programming to the Greene Family Learning Gallery.
From now until 2022, I’m proud to say that every exhibition on view is organized by the High and our exceptionally talented curators, dovetailing with our collection and celebrating its strengths. These include Gatecrashers: The Rise of the Self-Taught Artist in America and Really Free: The Radical Art of Nellie Mae Rowe from Folk and Self-Taught Art; Outside the Lines, our Piazza installation, and Disrupting Design: Modern Posters, 1900–1940, from Decorative Arts and Design; Picturing the South: 25 Years, celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of our photography commission series; and KAWS PRINTS, featuring KAWS’s editioned prints from our Modern and Contemporary collection.
In January, we’ll be one of only five museums nationwide to host The Obama Portraits Tour. Find out how you can get early access to tickets as a valued member.
You’ll also get to read in this issue about some incredibly important recent gifts, including one of the largest foundation grants the High has ever received from The Sara Giles Moore Foundation.
