The High will hold its annual Driskell Prize Dinner on Friday, April 29, at the Museum. The Driskell Prize, named for renowned African American artist and scholar David Driskell, is the first national award to celebrate an early or midcareer artist or scholar whose work makes an original contribution to the field of African American art or art history. A $25,000 cash award accompanies the prize, and proceeds from the dinner support the High’s acquisition of artworks by African American artists. The 2022 Driskell Prize Dinner will be chaired by honorary chair Rhonda Matheison and co-chairs Lucinda Bunnen and Michael K. Anderson.
